We were there at the start of Connected Packaging, and now we want to close that chapter.

Connected packaging is undoubtably a powerful medium. It continues to provide value for most areas within a business, and is going to be a key strategic focus for many due to evolving legislative and consumer requirements over the years ahead.

The problem is, 'connected packaging' isn't the same as 'complete product' - and the problem runs much deeper than word choice. It defines a fundamental ability to deliver intelligent products, at scale, that can meet the increasingly complex and broad burden companies face.

A quick trip down memory lane

Connected packaging proved to be an exciting medium to be part of. It was a creativly driven medium that provided consumers with experiences that ranged from beautiful augmented reality to valuable competitions. The vast majority of work was delivered by creative agencies as projects, with most having relivivly short shelf lives.

Some projects worked well, and some proved without doubt that connected packaging was a medium to pay attention to.

The thing is, back in these creative days, the language only focused on 'brand' and 'experience'. There was no mention of regulatory, disclosure and DPP. All that was to change in the years to come, and would redefine what a 'product experience' must be.

Welcome to the era of the complete product

One of the biggest challenges in finance ops is staying ahead of issues before they snowball. Vectura includes proactive alerting, so your team can take action before small overruns become serious problems.

You’ll receive customizable notifications when:

  • A team approaches its monthly limit

  • Unusual spend patterns emerge

  • A budget category is trending higher than forecasted

These alerts can be routed to specific approvers, budget owners, or even Slack channels — so the right people are looped in automatically.

Designed for Collaboration

Budgets shouldn’t live in a silo. With Vectura, budget management becomes a shared responsibility — not just a finance task. Team leads can request adjustments, review actuals vs. planned, and provide context directly within the platform.

This collaborative approach builds trust, improves transparency, and leads to better decisions. Everyone gets a clear picture of what’s happening financially — without needing to ask for yet another spreadsheet.

Getting Started

To start building smarter budgets in Vectura, head to the Budgets tab and create a new plan. You can import existing data or build from scratch using pre-made templates. Within minutes, your team will have access to a live, collaborative budget dashboard.

And if you’re transitioning from spreadsheets, our support team is happy to guide you through the setup.

Conclusion

Modern teams need modern budgeting tools. With Vectura, you move from reactive to proactive — gaining visibility, control, and confidence at every step.

Say goodbye to outdated spreadsheets and hello to budgets that finally work like your team does.
